It is unwise to pay too much but it is also unwise to pay too
little. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little
and getting a lot -- it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest
bidder, it is best to add to your budget for the risk you run. And if
you do that, you will have enough to invest in something better!
Here is a classic analogy for you to consider: A typical wedding or formal
event is hosted for 100 to 200 people. Caterers charge anywhere from
$8.00 to $15.00 per person for appetizers (basically cheese, crackers and
carrot sticks.) It is then not uncommon for a host to pay
$800.00 to $1,500.00 for the cheese and crackers. A good D.J. will
run $750 to $1,200 for a full evening. What will have a bigger impact
on the minds of your guests? Cheese and crackers or the D.J? If
you are on a budget, cut from your entertainment budget last. Your
guests will thank you.
